How do I use the Adiri Natural Nurser Ultimate Baby Bottle?

Our extraordinary bottle is not conventional, nor is its use and care. Please read before using:

How can I warm liquid in the Adiri Natural Nurser?

Adiri does not recommend microwaving bottles to warm liquids.

With an Adiri Warming Cap

With an Adiri Warming Cap, which fits snugly over the base of the Twist-On-Base, Adiri Natural Nursers may be used with standard electric or steam bottle warmers or submerged in warm water. Remove warming cap before feeding to ensure that Petal vent allows for release of air from interior of bottle.

Adiri Warming Caps should not be sterilized using a hospital autoclave or other device that reaches temperatures over 212° Fahrenheit / 100° Celsius. Typically, standard warming devices do not reach temperatures in excess of 212° F / 100° C.

Without Using an Adiri Warming Cap (aka Disc)

Two best methods:

Caution - Do not submerge Adiri Natural Nurser bottles in water unless using an Adiri Warming Cap (aka Disc) as the water pressure can unseat the vent and cause liquid to leak.

What is an Adiri Warming Cap?

The Adiri Warming Cap (aka Warming Disc) is a BPA-free plastic cover designed exclusively for Adiri Natural Nurser baby bottles which seals the bottom of the bottle, making it water-tight. Once the Adiri Warming Cap is placed snugly over the Adiri Natural Nurser's Twist On Cap, covering its Petal vent, the bottle may be submerged in water or used with a standard electric or steam bottle warmer. Adiri Warming Caps are:

How do I use the Adiri Warming Cap?

Before filling Adiri Natural Nurser bottles for warming, place the Adiri Warming Caps snugly over the bottom of the Twist-On Cap. This will cover the vent. Once the Warming Cap is in place, you may warm your bottles using standard electric bottle warmers, or by submerging them in warm water.

Adiri Warming Caps should not be sterilized using a hospital autoclave or other device that reaches temperatures over 212° Fahrenheit / 100° Celsius. Typically, standard warming devices do not reach temperatures in excess of 212° F / 100° C.

Where can I buy the Adiri Warming Cap?

The Adiri Warming Cap has will be arriving at a retailer near you soon. You may also buy them online at a variety of retailers. Click here for list of retailers.

How can I clean and sterilize the Adiri Natural Nurser?

We recommend that you sterilize the Adiri™ Natural Nurser™ baby bottle before its initial use, and then as often as you like subsequently.

How to Sterilize the Adiri Natural Nurser

We recommend two methods:

  1. Standard Steam Sterilizer (NOT MICROWAVE STERILIZER) - The bottle and its parts should be separated into their components. The bottle must always be in a upright position and no parts of the sterilizer should compress the nipple. The Adiri Natural Nurser should not be sterilized using a hospital autoclave or other device that reaches temperatures over 212 F / 100 C degrees. Recommended commercial sterilizers:
    • The First Years All Purpose Steam Sterilizer (keep nipple upright)
  2. Boiling Water - or boiled in water for 5 minutes. Please ensure that the pieces do not rest on the bottom or sides of a metal pot as they may melt.

Caution: We do not recommend using microwave steam-based sterilization bags to sterilize the Adiri Natural Nurser bottles. Use of these bags may damage bottles.

Routine Cleaning

For routine cleaning the Adiri Natural Nurser can be placed in the top rack of the dishwasher (do not use the heated dry cycle) or washed in hot soapy water. The Petal vent does not need to be removed from the Twist On Cap for routine cleaning.

Cleaning the Petal Vent

The Petal vent does not need to be removed for routine cleaning. If you do remove and replace it, please be sure to reposition it correctly such that the circumference of the Petal disc is flush against the Twist On Cap with a raised pocket at the center of the disc.

Is the Adiri Natural Nurser made with BPA, polycarbonates, latex or phthalates?

No. The Adiri™ Natural Nurser™ Ultimate Bottle is 100% BPA and polycarbonate-free. All materials used in the bottle meet FDA requirements and none contain any phthalate plasticizers, latex or vinyl chloride.

Is the Adiri Natural Nurser baby bottle CPSIA compliant?

Yes. All materials used in the bottle meet FDA requirements and none contain any phthalate plasticizers, latex or vinyl chloride. Our compliance certification is available on our website.

How do the Adiri Natural Nurser Stages work? What ages are recommended for each Stage?

Stage Flow Rate Age Bottle Base Color Capacity (Volume)
Stage 1 Slow Flow 0-3 months White 8 oz / 236 ml
Stage 2 Medium Flow 3-6 months Blue 8 oz / 236 ml
Stage 3 Fast Flow 6+ months Orange 8 oz / 236 ml

All Stages of Adiri Natural Nurser bottles have the same diameter nipple. The difference among stages is the number of holes in each nipple tip, which determines the speed at which liquid flows out of the bottle. More holes mean faster flow.

How do I know when to go up to the next stage?

It depends on your baby. Some babies prefer Stage 1 until they transition to a cup, some skip stages. To determine whether your baby might need the next stage, consider these common signals:

I am a breastfeeding mother introducing a bottle for the first time, which Stage Adiri Natural Nurser bottle should I buy?

Breastfeeding requires your baby to suck more strongly than most bottles require them to do. If you intend to continue breastfeeding while introducing a bottle, choose a slower flow stage (Stage 1 or Stage 2, depending on your baby's age). If you intend to wean off the breast, choose a faster flow stage (Stage 2 or Stage 3, depending on your baby's age).

Does Adiri make different sized bottles for different stages?

No. All Stages of Adiri Natural Nurser bottles are the same size and hold the same amount of liquid.

How does the Adiri™ Natural Nurser™ help to prevent colic?

The Adiri™ Natural Nurser™ Ultimate Bottle has a unique Petal™ vent system which helps to prevent colic. The Adiri Natural Nurser bottle is designed to reduce air ingestion, which can cause infant distress and colic. The Adiri Natural Nurser's unique Petal™ vent system in the bottle's cap lets air flow slowly into the bottle as the baby drinks, preventing the nipple from collapsing and your baby from swallowing air.

Can I use my Adiri Natural Nurser Directly with a Breast Pump?

The Adiri Natural Nurser bottles are not directly compatible with any of the breast pumps on the market. However, you may transfer pumped milk from breast milk storage bags or bottles into the Adiri Natural Nurser for short term storage and feeding.

What is the Adiri Natural Nurser Made of?

The Adiri™ Natural Nurser™ is made of polypropylene copolymer (a bisphenol-A free “BPA free” category 5 plastic) for the cover, core, and cap of the bottle. The soft nipple of the bottle and the Petal vent are made of a material called P-Flex. P-Flex is a modified TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomer) and contains some silicone. All materials used in the bottle meet FDA requirements and none contain any BPA (polycarbonate component), phthalate plasticizers, latex or vinyl chloride.

Is the Adiri Natural Nurser Bottle Recyclable?

The Adiri Natural Nurser is made of a category 5 plastic (cover, bottle core, bottle cap and warming caps) and P-Flex, a thermoplastic elastomer that is bonded to the bottle and creates the bottle's soft rounded dome & nipple and the Petal vent. Increasingly, some recycling communities do accept category 5 plastics, making the bottle cover, bottle cap and warming caps recyclable. However, the bottle itself and the Petal vent, containing P-Flex, are not. We are working on a recycling / reuse program for our bottles and hope to have a creative solution soon. Adiri's packaging is produced from recycled paper products and is itself recyclable.

How often do I need to replace the Adiri Natural Nurser bottles due to wear and tear?

With proper care and cleaning, the nipple should last at least 2-3 months or longer, depending on frequency of use. As with any bottle, if you notice any tears in the nipple material, you should immediately discontinue using the bottle.

What is Adiri's return policy?

Adiri does not sell its products directly to consumers. Instead, we have Partner Resellers (online stores and bricks & mortar stores) which sell our products to you. Because of this relationship, Adiri's products must be returned to the Reseller in accordance with that Reseller's own returns policies.

Adiri stands behind its products 100%. If you believe your bottle is not working properly please contact Customer Support for a quick resolution. We will replace any bottle or bottle part determined to be defective immediately. Please do not mail defective bottles or parts to us unless Customer Service requests you to do so. Adiri does not offer refunds on defective merchandise.

Can I download instructions for the Adiri Natural Nurser on your website?

Yes, please click here to download a PDF version of our instructions.

Where is the Adiri Natural Nurser manufactured?

Quality and safety are Adiri's #1 priorities when selecting a manufacturer for our products. Our manufacturing partner, headquartered in California, is known in the industry for its experience with our high-quality materials and the ability to meet our exacting manufacturing specifications. We produce our bottles at our manufacturer's state of the art production facility in Taiwan, using all FDA-approved materials (and mainly U.S. produced materials) that are tested in both the U.S. and Taiwan for quality.

To meet Adiri's highest production and ethical standards, our Taiwanese facility is ISO certified, complies with local employment laws and its employees enjoy wages that are competitive for the area.

Is the Breastbottle® Nurser (Adiri's previous bottle model) made with BPA, polycarbonates, phthalates or latex?

The cover and base of the Breastbottle® Nurser are made out of polycarbonate (contains bisphenol-A, or BPA, a polycarbonate component), but the dome (nipple) which comes in most contact with the milk is made out of a high quality silicone, Class VI. Our newest version of the Breastbottle Nurser, the Adiri™ Natural Nurser™ Ultimate Bottle, contains no BPA, phthalate plasticizers, latex, or vinyl chloride. Please note, Adiri no longer manufactures, sells, or maintains inventory of the Breastbottle Nurser.

Helpful Tips & Tricks

How do I know if there is something wrong with the flow rate of my bottle?

Due to overwhelming feedback from consumers and lactation consultants that our flow rates were too slow, we recently increased our flow rates slightly for all stages of Adiri Natural Nursers. If you were using one of our earlier bottles and have now begun using a newer bottle, you may be noticing this faster flow rate. The "new" Adiri Natural Nurser bottles have 2 holes in Stage 1, 3 holes in Stage 2, and 5 holes in Stage 3. The holes are the same size in all stage bottles, only the number of holes changes.

If you do not see the appropriate number of holes for your stage bottle, or if you feel that liquid is not streaming through properly (too quickly or too slowly), you may contact Customer Support and we will be happy to assist you.

My bottle is leaking, what should I do?

Here are some tips to minimize leakage. You can download our instructions here.

Filling Process:

  1. Make sure all parts of the bottle (cover, Petal vent, Twist on Cap and bottle) are dry. The components fit together best when they start off dry.
  2. Push the bottle cover over the bottle as far as it will go, making sure the tip of the nipple is aligned with the nub inside the cover such that the nipple tip touches the touches the bottom of the cover. This seals the nipple holes while you pour liquid into the upside down bottle.
  3. After filling the bottle, screw the Twist On Cap clockwise tightly onto the bottle. A tight seal regulates the flow of liquid out of the nipple, minimizing leaking during feeding and transport. Make sure the nipple remains inside the cover nub during this process so no leaks occur through the nipple.
  4. Keeping the cover on, turn the bottle fully upright before removing cover.
  5. If storing or transporting a filled bottle, keep the bottle upright.

Things to check:

Why is my bottle discoloring? Is it still safe to use?

Some of our earlier bottles have minor discoloration or yellowing as a result of an anti-oxidant ingredient used in the making of the soft domed nipple. This anti-oxidant is food-grade and 100% FDA approved. However, when our bottles are subjected to the high heat of dishwashers and/or a large volume of fluid, the material we use in the dome/nipple (P-Flex) begins to oxidize, turning a pale shade of yellow. We are working on the performance of this material to make it less likely to oxidize. We assure you that this discoloration is not harmful to your baby. However, as this may be a sign of normal wear and tear, you may want to consider replacing your bottles.

If you are experiencing this problem and have questions or concerns, you may contact Customer Support and we will be happy to assist you.

My bottle has an unusual odor although it is clean. Is it still safe to use?

As a result of the Adiri Natural Nurser's particular type of very soft, porous material, some of our earliest bottles tended to absorb faint odors from foods and liquids with which it came into contact. We assure you that these odors are not harmful to your baby. However, as this may be a sign of normal wear and tear, you may want to consider replacing your bottles.

If you are experiencing this problem and have questions or concerns, you may contact Customer Support and we will be happy to assist you.
